The DCO is playing the melodious Clarinet Concerto in A minor and the lively Symphony No 40. The mysterious Faure Pavane and Schubert’s music for Rosamunde complete the spring celebration!
Join us on a musical journey! We begin with Haydn’s serene depiction of the dawn in his early Symphony no. 6, Le Matin, and continue with Mozart’s delightful Symphony no. 14. Our centrepiece is the rarely heard Les Elemens by the Baroque French composer Jean-Féry Rebel, an exciting and unusual depiction of the creation of the world. We round off the concert with Respighi’s tuneful 20th century interpretation of familiar Baroque themes.
